About Full Belly Productions
Full Belly Productions cultivates and uplifts the creativity, artistic genius, and economic well-being of queer, trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive BIPOC artists through nourishing community gatherings and music, art, and gardening education. Inspired by the family wisdom of “panza llena, corazón contento” (“full belly, happy heart”), Full Belly Productions is imagined and tended to by musicians and multidisciplinary artists Dr. Diana Alvarez and Genesis Fermin. Together, Diana and Genesis harness the power of the arts and growing plants + food to nourish fellow QTBIPOC community. Full Belly Productions is a proud awardee of the 2023 Zoo Labs FUND grant and part of a magical cohort of artists.

Diana Alvarez / Doctora Xingona
Doctora Xingona’s ancestors bloom in their voice as exaltations of queer love and liberation. An expansive multidisciplinary artist, Doctora Xingona is the creator of Quiero Volver: A Xingonx Ritual Opera, a multimedia performance altar for queer, trans, and gender expansive BIPOC artists to convene and manifest futures.
Quiero Volver has been described as “acoustically stunning,” and audience members have said that they were “inspired to take action, artistic and political.”
Genesis Fermin
Genesis Fermin is a gardener and multifaceted artist who cultivates lush fruits and soul-illuminating songs. Their music documents the ache of longing, vivid childhood memories, and a life lived against the grain, blurring every boundary.
Genesis grows music and food in the Bay Area, and is the co-founder and co-producer of I Need Space Queer Music Festival, founded to support a diverse, international array of queer artists during the COVID19 pandemic.
Their debut album, Genesis Fermin (Sharpsong Music), was released in 2021 and produced by Gina Villalobos, and the “gentle acoustic rhythms” on this album are described by Americana UK as “smartly written, [with] a strong vocal.”
